Legislation in Guernsey appears in the following form, namely "The Rabies Law, 1976", "The Liability for injury and Protection of Livestock Order, 1982", "Stray (Amdt), 1988 & 1990", "Dog Tax, 1990" and "The Control of Dogs Ordinance, 1992".
"The Control of Dogs Ordinance, 1992", prohibits owners allowing their dogs in children play areas. It also specifies that dogs must "at all times be on a lead and under supervision" on any street, road, quay, jetty, playing field. There is also a prohibition on dogs on particular beaches at certain times of the year. The legislation also deals with the clearance and prohibition of fouling, offences and exemptions.
